Arrival conditions

  • You can find the arrival conditions in detail at the official website of:

The arrival conditions differ depending which country you are arriving from (country where you stayed more then 12 hrs) according to the level of risk. Please be aware that the map gets updated every week!

The conditions also differ depending which country you are arriving from according to EU+countries/non-EU countries conditions.

Citizens of EU+ and foreign nationals with a long-term or permanent residence permit issued by EU+:

 

Third-country nationals who do not have any residence permit issued by the Czech Republic or a long-term or permanent residence permit issued by other EU+ country;
third-country nationals who have a short-term visa issued by the Czech Republic before 11th May 2020 or short-term or long-term visa issued by other EU+ country:

Accommodation conditions in the Czech Republic

All persons must show valid proof of their COVID-19 noninfectiousness at their accommodation. These types of proofs are currently accepted:

          • valid EU COVID certificate
          • certificates of third countries which Czech Republic accepts as equal to valid EU COVID certificate 
          • other accepted valid COVID certificates from countries stated at the website of Ministry of Health
          • negativePCR test - valid for 7 days
          • negative antigent test - valid for 3 days
          • Valid EU COVID Certificate* applies to: EU countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway, San Marina, Switzerland and Vation.
          • Certificates of third countries which Czech Republic accepts as equal to valid EU COVID Certificate*: North Macedonia, Ukraine, Turkey.
          • Other accepted valid COVID certificates* from countries stated at the website of Ministry of Health: Armenia, Brazil, Chile, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Moldavia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, United States of America, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Great Britain

 *valid certificate - 14 days after the application of the final dose of vaccination or persons who had COVID-19 in last 180 days: EU digital COVID certificate or a certificate issued by an authorized subject operating in a third country, for which was adopted an implementing act in accordance with the European Union regulation on EU digital COVID certificates

Quarantine after arrival

Mandatory quarantine after arrival is required for students arrivng from HIGH, VERY HIGH and EXTREME risk countries. Exceptions from quarantine can be found HERE. (e.g. valid COVID Certificate)

If quarantine is needed after arrival, student has to book a special quarantine room at Academy Halls of Residence (in case of accommodation at MENDELU Halls of Residence). If there is no capacity left, students have to book private accommodation for the time of the quarantine - student can be properly accommodated only with negative test results as written in the arrival conditons above.

Vaccination in the Czech Republic

It is possible for foreigners to vaccinate as self-payers. 1 dose of vaccine costs approx. 850 Kč.

Information about vaccination with registration: Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. Usually 2 doses of Comirnaty vaccine (Pfizer).

Information about vaccination without registration "Walk in vaccination": Coronavirus in Brno. Usually 2 doses of Comirnaty vaccine (Pfizer) or 1 dose of Janssen vaccine (Johnson & Johnson).

Face masks

There is an obligation to wear FPP2 or KN95 face masks in all indoor places including public transportation.

Services and events

Persons who want to visit any place that provides services (e.g. restaurant, bar, club, hairdresser, gym, swimming pool...) must have one of the options below:

          • valid EU COVID certificate
          • certificates of third countries which Czech Republic accepts as equal to valid EU COVID certificate 
          • other accepted valid COVID certificates from countries stated at the website of Ministry of Health
          • negativePCR test - valid for 7 days
          • negative antigent test - valid for 3 days

I might have COVID, what should I do?

If you think you have COVID:

  • Stay at home
  • Get tested at PCR or Antigen testing places in Brno (written above)
  • Get in touch with the local Hygienic Station if necessary at pendleri@khsbrno.cz or Coronavirus infoline of the Regional Public Health Department in Brno is working on the phone number +420 773 768 994 (Mon–Fri 8:00–17:00)
 

If you have COVID:

  • Stay at home (10 day quarantine)
  • Contact the dormitory at hradska@mendelu.cz if you need to be in quarantine at the dorms
  • Contact your Faculty Coordinator so they can excuse you from classes
  • You should be contacted by the local Hygienic Station
